Alfacalcidol
Indications
Alfacalcidol is primarily indicated in conditions like neonatal hypocalcemia, oncogenic hypophosphatemic osteomalacia, vitamin D therapy is patients with severe renal impeairment, uremic osteodystrophy and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in psoriasis.
Contraindications
Alfacalcidol is contraindicated in conditions like hypercalcaemia.
Side Effects
The severe or irreversible side effects of Alfacalcidol are vomiting, diarrhea, nausea, vertigo, thirst, polyuria.
Available as 0.25mg and 0.5mg
