Indications
Famotidine is primarily indicated in conditions like benign gatric and duodenal ulceration, duodenal ulcer,duodenal ulcer relapse prophylaxis, reflux oesophagitis, zollinger ellison syndrome, and can also be given in adjunctive therapy as an alternative drug of choice in dyspepsia, heart burn.
Contraindications
Famotidine is contraindicated in conditions like hypersensitivity, Gastric malignancy.
Side Effects
The severe or irreversible side effects of famotidine are Dizziness, bradycardia, jaundice, mental confusion, hypotension, renal failure, epidermal necrolysis.
Available as 20mg and 40mg
